Purpose
The purpose of this course is to equip student teachers with the knowledge and skills to design, develop and implement school curriculum. The course will also enable them develop entrepreneurial spirit for survival in the society.
Expected Learning Outcomes (Objectives)
By the end of this course, the student should be able to:
- Explain the concepts ‘curriculum’ and ‘education’
- Discuss curriculum planning processes
- Evaluate models of curriculum development
- Examine curriculum reforms in Nigeria
- Develop a curriculum on a particular course/subject
- Utilize the knowledge and skills acquired from the course to earn a living through consultancy, research, workshop facilitation, and effective teaching.

This course explores the following: Meaning and nature of curriculum. Foundations of curriculum. Curriculum theory. Curriculum planning process. Models of curriculum development. Curriculum reforms and agents in Nigeria.
