This course also defines the basic definition of development and distinguishes the differences between economic growth and economic development. It will introduce the students to the meaning, necessity and methodology of economic planning as well as attempt to lead them to an appreciation of the problems of development planning. This is so because the quest for ordered socio-economic development is predicted on economic planning.
