Course outline
Concepts of ecology, ecosystem and community structure, ecological factors affecting microbial existence in an environment, adaptation of living organisms (microbes) to specific environments, climate and vegetation of West Africa, major Nigerian vegetation types (association fauna and flora), productivity and energy flow within the ecosystem, tropic structure, ecological pyramids and ecological efficiencies, biochemical cycles, pollution.
