Objectives:
This course, as a whole, is an introduction to the researches and results on social stratification and mobility. It focuses on concepts and facts about class structure. While the course may refer to certain stratifications in certain societies, it is not to be understood as a course on the social structures of those areas rather they serve as examples. After the course, the students will be well versed in the trajectory of the subject matter. An article is attached at the end of this note for the students to read and be ready to summarize at the end of the semester.
