The focuses on the synthesis, structure, properties, and applications of solid materials. It provide basis for how atomic-level structure arrangements, imperfections and bonding (covalent, ionic, metallic), influences macroscale mechanical, electrical and magnetic properties. Also, students will be exposed to corrosion thermodynamics and kinetics as well as mechanism, impact and prevention of corrosion.
