Molecular cell biology is a field of study that deals with the cell; its molecular foundations, biological processes with strong focus structure, function, and interactions of molecules (DNA, RNA, proteins) as they occur within biological cells. It serves as an interdisciplinary field involving biochemistry, genetics, and microscopy which help scientists understand cellular processes like metabolism, signaling, and gene expression in order to explain life at the basic (gene) level.
