The course highlights basic concepts in d3sign and optimization of a multicomponent distillation column. It encompasses both mixing and agitation as well asliquid-liquid, solid-liquid and gas-liquid systems. Also it highlights scale up residence distribution functions for continous systems. Moreover, the effective number of tansfer units applied to heat exchangers and programmed control regimes are discussed
